This is the story of how one of the largest empires of our story felt apart: Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar dreams to unify Europe, the Mediterranean and Middle East into a single community came down. During the sixth century, in the year 532 and in the heart of the Roman Empire, Emperor Justinian, in his palace in Constantinople tried to regain the former glory of an empire that was dying. But it foundered because of the religious wars, pestilence, and illegal migration of persons who, ironically, sought to defend themselves from that same empire. All this ruined the attempt of Justinian and the empire collapsed, giving way to the rise of Islam.
